Jesse is a sophomore at the University of Maryland studying Information Science (Bioinformatics concentration) and Neuroscience. She is currently a Bioinformatics intern at the Borgia Lab UMD, the president of Women Who Code at UMD, the Chief Technology Officer at Steps Education, a Rewriting the Code Fellow, a STEM mentor at Higher Achievement, the lead data scientist at Mentoring Her, a campus partner at Ground Up Ventures, the director and software development lead at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network for Caring the Bot, and a software engineer at Guidewell Financial Solutions.
In addition, Jesse is an Eben Tisdale Fellow at the Computing Research Association. She has generated in-depth reports on the scope and impact of policies covering emerging technologies, specifically machine learning, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing. She also mapped policies for CRA's blog and curated relevant, detailed blogpost's for the organization's base of over 200 organizations at the forefront of computing research, and accurately analyzed data to determine the risk and benefits of different policies.
